Welcome to Adams County Music Makers!

Music is all around us every day – we play it in our cars and in our homes; we hear it as we wander through the grocery aisles; it plays in the background while we eat at a restaurant; creates the mood in the movies and television shows we love. There are plenty of ways people enjoy music in a passive way, but at Adams County Music Makers, we believe everyone benefits from making music an active part of their lives as well.

Everyone is musical.

You don’t have to be “good at music” to be “musical.” If you have experienced the joy of singing in your car on a long ride or tapping your toe along to the beat of a song, you are musical. And it is never too early or too late to start exercising your musical-muscles.

To this end, Adams County Music Makers is proud to be offering Music Together® Mixed Ages classes as a program-in-residence at the Adams County Arts Council.

Music Together® is a fun, family music program for children ages birth through 5 years and the family members and friends who love them. The Music Together curriculum is based on the knowledge that all children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning.

First offered to the public in 1987, Music Together pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that includes and supports parent education and participation. Parents with no background in music can relax—our classes provide a safe, easy-going environment where parents have fun singing, dancing, and playing with their children. Because siblings attend Music Together classes together,  the classes also facilitate a community-building environment in which the youngest children watch, imitate and learn from older children, while older children develop important social and leadership skills.

Perhaps most importantly, Music Together classes are fun! Join our community of families sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants, and movement activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting. Adults, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and older siblings— all are welcome to make family music.

FREE demonstration classes are offered prior to the upcoming semester.
